Janet Eckford, new release, paranormal romance, Wallace Pack Series

Slow and steady is how it seems I participate in the race of writing now, and I can’t begin to describe how excited I am that I have a new release to announce. This was a particularly great accomplishment for me because Give and Take is the third book in the Wallace Pack Series. I write with a series in mind but it isn’t often I’m able to finish what I’ve planned.

I want to say there is more where this is coming from with regards to the characters in the three books…but…let’s all just be thankful for what we have now.

Wallace Pack Series: Book 3

Henry Wallace is the fixer of his Pack, the smoother of rough edges caused by the nearest and dearest of his family. It seems, however, that he couldn’t fix himself out of a coma, a broken body, and a forced medical leave. Henry’s ready to take up the mantle of responsibility once he wakes, but his partner Violet Peau—and the reason he’s confined to his bed—has other plans in mind for the wolf that always handles things.

Violet Peau held Henry in her arms while he died, and although he was only gone for a second, it was one second too long in her book. Instead of allowing him to bound out of bed as if he hadn’t almost gone into the light, she wants Henry—and the feelings his near-death experience unburied—put on a shelf where she can keep an eye on them. The problem? The stubborn wolf is one of the best when it comes to solving mysteries in their line of work. The newest riddle involves an ongoing battle to shut down a network of shifter mills and her need to protect is pulled in entirely too many directions.

Will Henry and Violet learn the fine art of compromise in work and love, or will bruised egos and past hurts prevent them from creating a partnership that can exist in both worlds?

Winter is coming, literally, and I must confess I’m a bit reticent as always. As a winter baby one would think I’d revel in the long lights and chilled air (yes, it does get cold in So. Cal) but I don’t. I’m more prone to hibernating if given the chance, but alas me sleeping the days away in the comfort of my bed is not possible and I am required to brave winter like everyone else.

I noticed though that as with the other solstices I have launched a book and it caused me to wonder about my subconscious need to be connected to change. My newest re-release Fire and Ice fits quite nicely into the schematics of the Winter Solstice. The book deals with themes I think speak to the idea of dark giving way for the light.  Continue reading →

Destined for Love Series, Janet Eckford, More Than My Everything, new release, writing

Today is a special day for me because it’s the 4th anniversary of my very first blog and the announcement of my first published short story. Today’s milestone is even more exciting because it also marks the announcement of my first self published short story. It’s amazing to see how I’ve grown when I look at that first blog. I’m bursting at the seams right now! I set my mind to combing my forgotten WIPs, picking out those that could be spruced up and given new life as a complete story and actually did it. I’d originally hoped they would be reborn as full length novels, but pulled back and thought, why don’t I trust the process and see what happens. I’m excited to announce that I’ve written TWO new short stories! Continue reading →

self-publishing, writing

Today has been a partially lazy day, mostly because I had great intentions to get some writing done on the next book in my Ambrose Family Series, but alas the road to good intentions is paved with internet distractions. Instead, I’ve started the process of sprucing up my blog and getting writing stuff in order. I recently received the rights back to several of my books and I’m filled with both excitement and trepidation. I’ve re-released some books already but I feel as if my path is being planted more firmly in a direction I wasn’t that sure about taking. Self-publishing was not initially a direction I saw myself, but as I’m always up to a challenge I’ve decided to see where it takes me. Granted, these stories are easy test subjects because the bulk of the work has already been done having had them submitted to a publishing house. Yet, I get a little giddy thinking of the possibilities that await me as I embark on this new journey. Now, if only I good stop looking at bearded men on Tumblr life would be more productive.

A little bit of romance

contemporary romance, new series, The Ambrose Family Series

I’m “this” close to finishing the next book in my Ambrose Family Series and I’m beyond excited. I love the contemporary genre but find myself constantly pulled away to darker stories that involve fangs, fur, and things that go bump in the night. There is a darker edge to the love stories I craft for those stories and I revel in my characters ability to wield a sword or some high powered machinery. Therefore, it has been a bit of a surprise that I’ve immersed myself so completely in the telling of this particular tale.

I’m actually in love with the love of sweet romance and plan to see how far I can carry out this new infatuation of mine. There is something delightful about a love story set in real time. There is also a pressure to make sure the story is more authentic because my suspension of disbelief has narrower parameters. I’m up for the challenge and steadily typing away. Fingers crossed!

Laurel Cremant, Midnight Mistletoe, new release, promo

I’ve never done this before on my blog, but when the lovely author Laurel Cremant sent out a request for a little bit of space on a few folks blogs I couldn’t say no. I’m a firm believer in supporting the efforts of my fellow authors and not long ago Laurel was ever so kind to ask me if I’d like to be showcased on her site without any solicitation on my part. Making connections with other authors that understand the pie is big enough for us all to have a slice is invaluable and it doesn’t hurt she writes some pretty sexy prose! Continue reading →

Guilty Pleasures

new release, Secret Baby Story, Shara Azod

When asked who has guilty pleasures in reading I raise my hand with pride. There are those stories that on the surface make no logical sense and if I placed myself in the shoes of the characters I’d make drastically different choices. The rational part of my brain that keeps me from committing felonies and out of foreign prisons looks at those story lines and thinks, “This is utterly ridiculous”, but there is a part of me, that little mischievous sprite that toys with doing all of those things my rational brain disapproves of, that claps it’s little hands and squeals out “More!”. I am a contradiction like that and when it came time to start on a new project (or complete a forgotten one) I’d latched on to the guiltiest of guilty reading pleasures I enjoy; The Secret Baby Story. A Matter of Fate, cover art, Holiday Hookups, self-publishing, The Naughty List

I recently got the rights back to three of my stories from Beautiful Trouble Publishing and instead of letting them collect dust in the virtual shelf of my thumb drive I decided to go the route of self-publishing. This new territory in my writing career was both scaring and daunting but I don’t let fear hold me back…unless there are clowns…but I digress. Continue reading →
